Forest Development

The Office of the Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Development, is formed by the state government to achieve the primary objective of creating developmental works, plan budgets for the state, also for central government sponsored schemes and third party sponsored schemes and get it passed accordingly by state/central government to receive funds and sub-allocate it to the forest division’s for execution of various afforestation, reforestation and other forestry and infrastructural development works in the state. Some of the key functions of this wing are as follows:-
 
  • Supervision and monitoring of all approved schemes running in the state and ensuring timely expenditure and implementation of the sanctioned schemes by the implementing authorities.

  • To timely allocate the funds to the implementing authorities to carry out forest development and protection works.

  • To monitor and ensure the effective and efficient use of the government funds for utilizing against the purpose for which it has been provided according to the government norms.

  • Over-all monitoring of quality of plantations & nurseries pertaining to the scheme dealt in development wing.
